Happy Birthday Rease!

We celebrated Rease's 1st birthday this past weekend. We were in San Diego (pictures to come) for her actual birthday, so we had a little family party when we got home and let Rease have her birthday cake.

Knows this is usually against the rules...

but digs right in as soon as she sees that mom is okay with it.

Now both hands.

Making sure she has frosting on every inch of her face...

Washing up before we open presents.

Trying out the new headscarf and bib that Grandma Losee made.

And a great new toy to walk behind (and make mom crazy with the constant music coming from it.)

Proud parents of a one year old!

Curler Craziness

Being Sunday Natalie and I looked for an excuse to force Rease to look more grown up while at the same time amusing ourselves. These first two shots were early this morning after her bath, just consider it a trial run.

No surprise to Natalie or I, Rease has no problem being pampered.

The finsished product didn't look quite right but we knew we'd have another crack at it after naptime. As you can tell by the next set of photos this was no dress rehearsal, it was time for church and someone was ready for the pampering of her life.

The rosey red cheeks are a product of sleeping on her face with her bum in the air.

I couldn't get the chapstick out of her mouth and get a good picture at the same time so I just gave up and let her have it.

There you have it, the final product. I don't know about you but I think it makes her look a couple months older. I have a feeling this one will much rather play in Mom's makeup than with Dad outside in the dirt.

A curious moment

We are noticing a curious side of Rease now since she has become more mobile. Our goal this weekend is to Rease-proof the house.
I love this look - "What did I do?"

Weekend at the Cabin

I am very late putting these pictures up, but decided that it's better late than never. A few weeks ago, Chad graduated from BYU and we spent the weekend together at the cabin celebrating his graduation and a late Easter.

Rease loves her aunt Hayley!

The Easter bunny found us at the cabin and dropped off toys and candy for the kids.

And of course, for the adults, we had the big easter egg hunt (we're so excited because the eggs are filled with money! It's the big event of the year!)

It ends up being a very serious competition...

In the end, I think Josh and I took home the most - Yeah!

We had such a fun time and love spending time with the family!

Just standing around...

Just a few pictures of Rease trying her best to walk. She stands up to and walks around anything and everything to be able to get where she wants to go. She is getting pretty good!

We spent Sunday afternoon with Josh's family and snapped a quick picture before everyone headed for home - we had a good time and got to meet a couple of new girls too!

Sack of Potatoes

Josh loves when Rease wears a certain pair of pajamas so he can play a game that he made up called "sack of potatoes." It's pretty obvious how the game works, but as you can see, Rease loves it! As soon as she hears him say "sack of potatoes" she starts giggling. It's so cute to watch them play together.

Rease has been a busy girl the last few weeks learning some new tricks - we caught all of them on video the other day. She gets a little confused at what's what, so she just jumbles them all together. Somewhere in the mix you'll see "bye-bye", "yay" and "no."
Enjoy!

That's our sweet girl!

A visit to Grandpa's office

Rease has been to the dental office with me plenty of times - this time she thought she'd take a turn herself.
She knew just what the mirror was for...
and she has never liked having anyone look at her teeth (all six of them now) so she didn't really love this part.
But, in the end it was a great visit and always fun to visit our friends at the office.
Love you Grandpa!

Girls Trip to California

My grandparents live in California and we decided to take a trip just us girls to visit. Mom, my sister Hayley, Rease and I took off Wednesday and spent the weekend visiting, shopping and enjoying the great weather.

Rease finally got to wear some of her cute summer clothes and sandals - just in time because they are almost too small already.

We all couldn't stop laughing at these sunglasses of Rease's - I couldn't resist putting them on at least for a picture.

We had a little too much fun at the outlets - we seriously bought enough to fill a whole other suitcase.

Rease warmed up to her Great-Grandpa after a few hours - she loved playing with him.

This is what Rease does with her stuffed animals - cuddles them to death. She got an easter bunny from great-grandpa and grandma and couldn't get enough of it.
