Curler Craziness

Being Sunday Natalie and I looked for an excuse to force Rease to look more grown up while at the same time amusing ourselves. These first two shots were early this morning after her bath, just consider it a trial run.

No surprise to Natalie or I, Rease has no problem being pampered.

The finsished product didn't look quite right but we knew we'd have another crack at it after naptime. As you can tell by the next set of photos this was no dress rehearsal, it was time for church and someone was ready for the pampering of her life.

The rosey red cheeks are a product of sleeping on her face with her bum in the air.

I couldn't get the chapstick out of her mouth and get a good picture at the same time so I just gave up and let her have it.

There you have it, the final product. I don't know about you but I think it makes her look a couple months older. I have a feeling this one will much rather play in Mom's makeup than with Dad outside in the dirt.

I need a boy

Uncle Mike and Rease; together at last.

Our great friend and psuedo family member Mike McCarlie (yes ladies he's single) took time out of his high profile schedule to hang out with us at the house yesterday.

As you can see, Rease got all dressed up for the occasion (dressed up meaning a clean set of PJ's and some hair gel). Then, like a light switch, she turned on the charm.

From the looks of things, they enjoyed one another's company.
We love to have some good old quality time with Mr. Mike McCarlie!!

Carrot Cake Delicousness

Yes everyone this is Josh (a.k.a. the father). I am still alive dispite the lack of posts with my name on them.

Rease and I had the day to spend together not to long ago so we made a delicous carrot cake for Grandpa Beutler's Birthday.

I thought I'd let her play by herself while I whipped it up. But true to form the minute she knew something was going on in the kitchen she quickly glided over and kept ramming into my legs with her walker. And as you can she she ended up being quite the Soux Chef.

She did a great job grating the carrots with her razor sharp lower teeth.
I personally love the white knuckle grip.
And if you've ever made "baby assisted" carrot cake before you know that the spoon needs to be pre-soaked with saliva prior to combining ingredients. This tecnique is known to give the cake that special something.
Then follows the all important post-soak in saliva to insure the spoon will be clean after final wash. Think of it like rinsing your dishes before putting them in the dishwasher.

And Voila!! There you have it. What a great day in the kitchen!!

Early Fall Camp in American Fork Canyon

Rease proved herself to be a true Beutler this past weekend as we went up to beautiful American Fork Canyon for here first overnighter.

Of course, no body is perfect. (she loved camping and hated the "sock mittens")

It was great to have Aunt Whitney along

Future Uncle Ty came too.

Aunt Robin was super sweet to Rease which made her first camp all the better.

We were happy to see BYU Freshman and future valedictorian Sarah Hansen

Grandma and Grandpa Losee came up early and left before it got too late.

Uncle Joe brought his latest "Mistress" Melissa (or was it Melinda?) and, as usual was a force to be reckoned with.

Just when we thought we had a full crew, Garth Brooks (Greg Robbins, our friend, neighbor and fellow "gym rat") showed up and gave us a stunning rendition of "The Thunder Rolls" as a thunderstorm came through about 11 PM.

We played games by the fire into the early morning. All in all it was about as good as it gets.

Great friends and family = Great memories
