Beutler Family

This year we went to the Beutler Family Reunion in Burley Idaho.  It was at Grandpa and Grandma's old farm.  We all brought tents to sleep in and there were lots of activities going on throughout the days.  We had such a fun time with the family.  So many of the cousins I haven't seen in years, so it was really fun to get reacquainted.  These are the only 2 pictures we have of the weekend.  The Alma Beutler family.  

Rhen's coloring

Rhen LOVES to color.  She can usually be found with crayons, pens or markers in her hand drawing a cute picture.  She is so sweet and giving with her artwork too.  Most of her drawings are for someone else - neighbors, family members, teachers, etc.  I have been the recipient of many pictures from Rhen and I love them all!  She has learned how to write her name really well and can also write a few words that she can sound out herself.  She is such a sweet girl.  Enjoy!

 Sometimes she writes letters down as if she's writing a note.  I'm not sure what any of these say usually.  One day she took one of these notes to Papa and he asked her what the note said.  She looked at him confused and said, "I don't know.  I can't read."  He said, "Well didn't you write this note?"  She answered, "Yes, but I can't read it."  Okay then.

Whatever it is, we love having these pictures and notes around our house to remind us of our sweet little Rhen!

At the Lake

We have been on the lake quite a bit this summer.  This kids love it even when they aren't on the boat.  This weekend we took a family in our ward with us to boat.  The younger kids and I stayed on the shore most of the day to give time on the boat to the older kids that were with us.  They love just playing and sitting in the water.

Wiggle Bikes

We bought these wiggle bikes at the beginning of the summer, not sure how much they would be used but thought they might be fun.  Turns out they are a hit with the kids!  We took them downstairs to the unfinished basement and the kids have made a sort of race track out of the area.  They spend hours down their riding bikes and it is super fun for them!   Keen usually doesn't ride but once in a while Rease holds him for a couple turns around the track.  What a fun toy!

Day at the Park

We had Canyon with us today so decided to take the gang to the park.  There is a fun park just up the way from us, so we walked/rode bikes there for the morning.  The kids had a blast playing together.  

 Back at the house for lunch on the deck.  

 And Keen can't seem to get enough milk - one in each hand just in case!

Family Pictures 2013

We recently had new family pictures taken with a cute photographer we found online.  We saw some pictures she had done downtown by these graffiti walls and wanted to try it out.  She was really fun and cute with the kids and we are happy with the way the pictures turned out.  Enjoy!

Free Slurpee Day!

Our favorite treat this summer has been slurpees.  We try not to get one every day, but sometimes it seems that we do.  So when free slurpee day came around - 7/11 - we took advantage of it!  Nothing better than a slurpee on a hot day!

Just being Keen

Keen is the best kid, chubby, curly hair, and smiley - what more could you ask for in a baby?

He loves just chillin with dad - especially if he has treats he's handing out!

Playing with (and eating of course) one of the girls many pieces of jewelry that is usually hanging around the house somewhere.

And just smiling like a champ!  He is walking all around the furniture and crawls like a madman - walking is just around the corner I can feel it!

Great Grandma Wisniewski

My grandma Wisniewski has been here in a rehab center for the past month or so.   She came for dad's birthday party and got sick while here so was admitted to the hospital and later to a rehab center in Riverton.  She has had some major health problems lately and is trying to recover.  Anyway, we have loved having here and the kids have gotten to know her and love visiting her in her room.  

She is planning on going back to Wisconsin in a week or so, but for now we are just glad we can be close to her!

Making a Mess

I followed Keen around today and captured a couple of the messes that he made.  

Starting with the basket of shoes.  I love that he is basically inside this basket rummaging around.

 And this has been his favorite thing to make a mess of lately - the drawer of lids.  It's easily accessible and such fun to play with once he gets it open.  

Keen is one busy boy and keeps me hopping all day to keep up with him and his messes!

4th of July - Day 2

Since the 4th of July fell on a Thursday, most of us had Friday off work as well.  We took advantage of the extra day off and stayed in Delta so we could boat at the res the next day.  We were up and on the lake by 7:00 as is our custom.  The water was great and we were alone on the res for the first hour or two.

Rease was one of the first ones in the water and has decided that she wants to try knee boarding this year.  Josh hung on behind her to help get her up out of the water and then he dropped off the back and let her go on her own.  It worked out great and she wasn't too nervous to be alone.  

 Liev was the official flag boy for the day.

 And Keen took his usual spot underneath one of the seats.  He usually falls asleep within minutes and is out for an hour or so.

 Liev was Caleb's buddy for the day and loved watching what was going on behind the boat.

And what day at the lake doesn't end with a water fight?  These are Liev's favorite toys of the summer and can't get enough of squirting everyone else.  But when the tables are turned and he gets squirted?  Well, that's a different story!

We had an awesome day on the lake and can't wait for more to come this summer!

4th of July

We headed to Delta for the 4th again this year.  The kids love going and there is always lots going on for the whole family.  The parade is super fun because the kids always get tons of candy and they think it's the best.  

Keen hung out with dad while the other kids ran around and hunted for treats to fill their bags.

We tried getting a good picture with the babies too but obviously they weren't happy about it!

Our favorite part of the day is the Demolition Derby that night.  The kids are old enough now to enjoy it and we love spending the evening watching the derby then the fireworks.
