My Uncle Justin Loves Me!

I love to play with my uncle Justin and make funny faces at him while he makes funny faces at me!

The Losee Fam

We got together for "Grandpa's" b-day today at the dental office. We kind of took over the party, but that's okay. We love getting together as a fam and of course Rease's uncles, aunt and grandparents love being with her.

Every girl needs a cute summer dress.

As you can see Rease has slipped into the dog days of summer with a cool yet flattering summer dress and sun hat. I'll be the first to admit that the hat is a little large but we felt she made the best of it.

Look at those bright eyes.

The comments from family and friends seem to suggest that few people have seen Rease with her eyes open. Yesterday morning was one of her best shows so I just thought I'd show those big clear eyes off to everyone who hasn't seen them yet. It seems like she is just at the edge of focusing her eyes on the person in front of her, we can't wait for her to recognize us.

My first shot - well not really, kind of...

Rease went to the doctor today for her 2 week visit and got two heel pricks. She didn't seem to think that was fair since she had been such a good girl today and passed all of her other tests. She is measuring in at 21 inches and 8 pounds 3 oz - the doctor says she looks perfect. She only has a small bandaid to show for the torture she went through today. (She actually did great and only cried for a few seconds then went back to her usual angel self.)

The headband curse

Well I guess it's my turn to post something - as I should seeing that I am the one home with Rease all day and get to see her do all the cute things she does. Josh took this picture of us Rease this morning as she was sleeping next to me in our bed (we do that sometimes because we are oh so tired and can't get ourselves up.) The funny thing about this picture is the pacifier holder that is strung across her eyes and she doesn't even seem to mind - she just sleeps on. It reminds me of another time when she was not so peacefully disturbed by something across her eyes. I was driving home from seeing Josh and obviously Rease is with me. All of a sudden she starts wailing, which is very unlike her because she is usually very easy going. I look in the mirror that we have on the headrest of her seat and the headband/bow that she has in her hair is down across both of her eyes with the bow covering her right eye completely. Well, I couldn't help but laugh and wish that somehow I could get a picture of the scene (so when I saw this picture with the pacifier I couldn't help but retell the story.) I can't reach her seat from my seat, so I had to wait until we got home to fix it. Well, Rease got through it but didn't think it was quite as funny as I did. By the time we got home, the headband was down around her neck (not choking her or anthing) and she was a little bit happier. She did have a scowl for me when I took her out, as if it were my fault or something. Maybe she just knew I was laughing at her. She is adorable - I can't help it.

Gas Is Gooood...

It doesn't take long to realize that the smiles we see, while cute, are not the most sincere. A heavy diet of the good stuff (milk) gives Rease all the reason in the world to let things go without shame. She seems to be growing up before our eyes and we love every minute of it.

So I have natural "Jerry Curls" ... so what?

Fresh out of the stylist chair Rease love to show off her full bodied hairdo and all the diva style that goes with it. Rease also just slept through the night for the first time which makes Mom and I very happy and showing that she is less of a diva and more of an angel than ever.

Does this blanket make my cheeks look chubby?

Oh boy does she love to get wrapped up nice and tight. This wasn't actually that tight but she was lying on her side and I could not resist. Last night was a bonding night for Rease and me. In order to let momma get some sleep Rease and I got up every couple hours for a quick bite to eat and by sunrise we were inseparable. I couldn't even make it through my first full day at work; I had to come home to see my girls.

Have I Ever Mentioned She is a Daddy's Girl?

Contrary to popular belief just because Rease has her Mom's incredible looks doesn't mean that she has a preference for Mom over Dad. Today She chose to make the point known to all blog readers throughout all the world (note the enthusiastic cheering position). We finally got the bathing thing down tonight with hopes that it will put her out of commission at least until the early morning hours (fingers crossed).

Feel The Burn!

If she is going to keep us up all hours of the night we are going to try and wear her out any minute she thinks she can just sit there and be cute. Between milk binges she is very active and very responsive to anything going on around her.
We try and keep her occupied with some pull-ups and some eye blinking exercises as she tries to negotiate the ever present flash of the camera in her face. Regardless, she knows she is the star of the show.

Milk Monster!!!

Another long night has passed and we find ourselves just as tired but energized by the strength that Rease continually demonstrates. As you can see she is just a machine when it comes to eating. It doesn't matter if it is from the bottle or from Natalie or a combination of the two. She knows what she wants and she'll take it any way possible. We are in love with her every move.

Those Peepers Should be Sleepin'

Coo...Coo!! is all we hear through the darkness of our first night home from the hospital. Tired as we are we both secretly loose more sleep making sure Rease is still breathing (first time parent thing). Then came the early morning energy spurt. All Rease wanted to do was eat and look around so we figured it would be a good photo opportunity.

Rease gets so excited to eat that she has developed what we have dubbed "The Stevie Wonder Over-Correction" if you can just imagine her getting so anxious to eat that her head starts swaying back and for forth like Stevie Wonder playing the piano. The only difference is that she does it twice as fast. We are sure she will be able to zero in lunch as the days go on but for the short term we could watch her "Stevie Wonder Over-Correction" all day long.

Worth the Wait.

I just don't know what to say, a week of miracles both small and large has just past and I cannot believe we are parents. After 22 hours in labor and delivery, and realizing after the fact from nurses first hand accounts that we were the "scare of the day" if not the week we cannot believe that she is home with us cooing away as she eats or looking up at us with those big blue eyes all through the early morning hours. Any amount of pain, tears, sorrow, or heartache is worth the absolute joy she has given us. She has touched our lives so deeply that we both cried almost all the way home from the hospital. We have only begun to know what it is like to devote everything you have to a single event and have it almost slip away. But we both agree that we would do it all over again.

We are so blessed to have the support of family and friends and hope to always return the love and respect paid to our little family these past few days.

Spish Splash at Graduation!!!

Thanks to Natalie, Rease and a little help from "Mother Nature" Natalie's water broke right before Alta High School Graduation!! Never before have I been so glad for good timing. Here is how our trip went from UVSC up to Alta View Hospital.

Once we got on the freeway we realized that the camera was still with Chad at the graduation ceremony. So we had to go back and get the camera from Justin who was kind enough to run it out to us. We got back on the free way all the while text messaging and calling everyone we could think of as if we had already delivered. We were just so excited but nobody more than Natalie. Her mind just kept on rolling with all the things she wanted to do before we had he baby, "Oh I forgot to pay that bill that I wanted to pay before we had Rease" or "thank goodness I cleaned the house today!!!" "okay, what do we need to bring, do you want to get your car charger, how bout some extra cloths for you, could you go get me some of my clean clothes from downstairs. " "Darn it, I wanted to get a night gown that opens in the front so it is easier to nurse!" "oooooh, there is a Wal-Mart close so you can go and get some treats just like the book says" these were just a few comments I heard within the first couple minutes and they just continued until we got to the hospital and got here settled down. But even then the topics that come up are completely random. It liken it to Natalie’s pregnant life flashing before here eyes.

It is now 5:55 AM, Natalie is dilated to a 7 and Dr Smith just came to pay us a visit and said the he expects her to be pushing around 7 to 7:30. We are feeling it all, excitement, nervousness, you name it we've felt it. (except for severe labor pains and water retention on my part)

How wonderful to have your own blog so we can share in the joy of your family addition . I am especially happy to be a participant in witnessing the birth of the sweet bundle that Heavenly father has happily placed in your lives. Thank you so much for another little grandbaby to love
and be apart of our lives.
We love you all!
