Piney Place Weekend

Our first family photo in a month or two.

Trip to Yellowstone 2007

From Thursday to Sunday of last week we found ourselves at "Piney Place" a great family owned cabin up in Island Park Idaho, just about 45 minutes from Yellowstone (30 if I'm driving). We had a great time with both Grandma and Grandpa Beutler (G&GGeriatricNews.blogspot.com) and Grandpa and Grandma Losee (loseefamily.blogspot.com).
What follows is a birds eye view of the events of our trip.

Being the avid outdoors people we are we were not surprised to find the wildlife were instictively attracted to us... or maybe us to them. Neither Natalie or I let alone Baby Rease had never been to Yellowstone so we took a day to take in nature.

This Brown Bear and her cub were hanging out in the tree. Good thing the Park Ranger closed the trail because Grandpa Losee would have climbed the tree just to get better video.

Old Faithfull was nice but pretty stinky and not as dramatic as I had imagined.

Knowing that it was appropriate for the situation Rease let off a little steam of her own. But instead of smelling like sulfer, her gas smells like roses.

YellowStone Lake was great so we took some time to get some Glamour Shots.

Uncle Joe got first prize for the "Sexiest look while hugging an adolescent pine tree." Watchout Ladies!!

Upper YellowStone Falls was great so we took another chance to snap some couples photos.

Since uncle Joe is alone and single he took the chance to perfect his fake bull riding skills.

Then he transitioned into a more pensative frame of mind; reflecting on the 24 years gone and his "social goals" for the near future.

At 308 ft tall Upper YellowStone Falls was an awesome sight.

So awesome in fact that you could sense the "love in the air" (Aunt Whitney and Ty)

Exhausted from everthing being so awesome, Uncle Joe felt like sitting down and doing his best impression of Uncle Ricco (Napoleon Dynamite).

Then, as quickly as it had begun, the fun with Uncle Joe was over. Good thing we'll always remember Uncle Joe and our Trip to Yellowstone.

I got daddy's nose...literally

When I say I got my daddy's nose, I mean it in 2 ways.
#1 - Daddy's nose is one of the features I inherited that sets me apart from looking exactly like mommy - I also got his double-chin which is also very cute!
#2 - I really got daddy's nose this time! (Hey it's mine too so I might as well do what I want with it, right?)

The Evolution of a Smile

Rease already knows how to play her Mommy and Daddy like a violin.
Watch as here smile evolves by the second.

Its like she's saying to herself "oh, the camera is on."

I think she actually knows that she is cute and she can turn it on like a light switch.

We cannot get enough of this girl.

Scorpion!!! How dare you invade our natural habitat...

It seems like we have had quite the "Bug Fest" on our front porch this year. After sending a freaked out Natalie into the house behind a deadbolted door "Scooter" the Scorpion (I named him) decided to hang around a little on our warm front porch.

Good thing she has a "Man" to protect her from the Jungle of angry animals just out her front door.

Our busy Sunday...

Rease started her Sunday morning off looking like a cute little fifties doll in her brown polka-dot dress (it was a gift and we have been waiting forever for her to fit into this particular outfit cause it is darling!) She was ready for church - pleats and all.

Then it was time for a family get-together at the semi-annual "cousin party" at Lisa's. Of course Britt and Hayley were there and you know how Rease loves her aunts!

The cousin party was made up of a lot of the Blair Losee family, but we had a great time playing "Werewolf." (I have to add that Chad makes a great little girl.)

We ended the night by going up to "our spot" in Suncrest to watch the meteor shower. We were a little disappointed at the lack of meteors showering, but it sure was a nice night just the three of us.

Rease was tuckered out by the end of the night...

Of course the feet have to be sticking out the end of the blanket - that's "her thing."

Cutest kids in the world

We hung out at the Vances house in Cedar Hills on Saturday and enjoyed their newly finished yard - complete with a basketball court (Josh and Wayne couldn't get enough of that), trampoline and tons of grass space for the kids to run around. Rease loved laying on her blanket outside with the rest of us.

Isaac is just too cute with his curly hair and messy face. He did just win 3rd place in the town "Cutest Baby Contest"

Ella and her cob of corn - which after about ten minutes of eating it, decided that she didn't likeit and gave it to me.

Katie's sister Mary enjoying the outdoors

We are so glad to have good friends and friends for Rease to play with when she grows up!

This "tagging" thing should have stayed with the gender it originated from!!!

Since Trevor Hill did a disservice to all men by breaking down the tagging gender barrier, I'll humor those who would like to know a little more about me.

Trevor, when you get into throwing those "Bead Parties", don't invite me.

Jobs I've had:
1. Aerospace Technologies Representative (ACTR)
2. Furniture Sales (at "The Willey")
3. Alarm Sales (I'm no Trevor Hill, I only made it until July)
4. Group Counselor (Provo Canyon Boys School)

Movies I Can Watch Over and Over Again...
1. Shanghai Noon/Nights
2. I Spy
3. The Matrix (Every time it airs on Cable TV Six times in a row)
4. Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (I'll sing all the songs for you if you don't believe me)

My Guilty Pleasures...
1. Natalies Chocolate Chip Cookies
2. Nielsens Frozen Custard
3. Homemade Christmas Candy
4. Smores with melted Reeces Peanut Butter Cups in the place of Chocolate.

Favorite TV Shows...
1. The Soup (on E! Fridays at 8/7 Central) Joel McHale makes me cry he is so funny.
2. So You Think You Can Dance (Danny needs to get voted of because he is a punk!)
3. Man vs. Wild (Bear Grills teaches me all his skills)
4. Good Eats / Food Network (Alton Brown is dorky but I like food)

Favorite Hobbies
1. Kissing on my Wife
2. Skiing

1. Sword Fish @ Fish House VeraCruz (Carlesbad California)
2. Cheddar Bay Biscuits at Red Lobster
3. Chicken and Rice (Natalie's specialty)
4. Brazilian BBQ at Texas De Brazil (Dallas, Texas) So good it makes Tucanos taste like dog food.

First thing you thought when you saw your significant other:
1. First date? "She seems like a nice girl"
2. Second date (4 1/2 months later)? "Holy Crap!! how did you miss this one?"
3. "Well hello... you'll make a good mother for my children"

If in a jam with the spouse, what tactics do you use to get out of the doghouse?
1. Play dumb
2. Play it cool (Natalie hates it when I don't fight back)
3. If nothing else like Natalie I "go with the obvious." I figure, "what the heck she's already mad at me so I've got nothing to loose."

Distinguishing Features? Yeah I've got 'em

Baby Features

Every baby has at least a few distinguishing features; Something that sets them apart from the rest of the little chubby balls of fun out there. Look really close to see if you can spot one of little Rease's physical characteristic that sets her apart from the rest (hint: she takes after her Mom).

Give up? Look closer...

We'll try and keep 'em concealed in the future.

Next Feature

Look closely to spot the one thing no other 2 1/2 month old has ever had.
(hint: it shows Rease's rebelous side)

Don't be dstracted by that innocent sleepy look in her eyes.

Look closer...

What you have mistook for harmless "sleep creases" is actually the "Beutler Family Tribal Band Tattoo" designed to make a statement without offending anyone.

Let me assure you that even though she looks like she is all "hard core" on the outside she is really just a chubby little baby with a lot of love for her Mommy and Daddy (regardless of how much they use her to entertain friends and family).

Check back often for more distiguishing characteritics!!!
