Grandma Losee has not been doing well. The past couple months have been really hard on her and Aunt Celia called mom and dad this week and said that she didn't think grandma had much longer. Josh and I and the kids snuck down there this evening and spent a few hours with her. She mostly laid on the couch the whole time where she was most comfortable. We each took turns sitting by her and giving hugs and kisses and just talking to her. I had some sweet moments sitting by her and holding her hand and just quietly talking to her. She doesn't say much but I got some good smiles from her and I could tell she knew we were there. Celia helped her get up one time to move around and we were able to gather around her and get this picture. She can't sit up on her own very well but we all helped hold her up for a few minutes. This darling picture of me and grandma with a smile on her face will be one of my favorite memories. We were so happy we caught her on a good day and were able to visit with our sweet grandma!

Burrito Mess
In a dream world we would implement the "no eating in the car" rule. Lots of times though we are just in that big of a hurry that we need to eat lunch quick before we get somewhere. Seeing this, I may reconsider the rule. Yikes.
Surprising Dad
We stopped in to see Josh at work today and he wasn't in his office. So before the boys destroyed his office, we snapped a picture to send him so he could come quick! We love seeing our dad during the day!

Beck learns to Ski!
We've officially added one more Beutler to the ski clan. Beck came with us for the first time this year and did AMAZING! He has been so excited to ski like the older kids and had all his gear ready days before it was time to go. Once we got up to the mountain he looked just like one of the big kids - helmet, goggles, skis and all! We put him in a semi-private lesson for half a day since he's not old enough to be in a group lesson yet. So for the first couple hours of the day he was with his instructor while the other kids had their classes. Josh and I had a good couple runs together before we picked him up. His teacher said he did a great job and best of all, he was still smiling and ready to keep skiing! He and I stayed on Explorer the rest of the day and it was a blast seeing him bust down the mountain effortlessly. I love this little man and that's he's big enough to be up here with us!!

Field Trip to the State Capitol
I got to be one of the chaperones for Rease's class field trip to the State Capitol. We had the best time! I haven't been to the capitol in such a long time and it was really fun to see if all again and be with Rease and her class. We stopped at the pioneer museum first and spent about an hour there. Lots of really cool old things were there including this awesome antique fire engine! After that we spent about an hour on a capitol tour that ended with a visit from someone from the district attorney's office who talked to just our school in the supreme court room. It was a really fun day with my Rease and I was so happy to be there with her!

Career Day
For career day in Rease's class they had a police officer come and present. He let the kids try on a suit to see how it felt. This picture of Rease is so cute in the uniform!

Burned brownies
Please tell me that someone else has done this? I put brownies in to cook and then forgot about them and left the house for a couple hours. Yikes. I'm lucky the house didn't burned down and I got just a broken pan instead. I'm afraid the burned brownie smell is going to take a while to get out of the house.

1st Ski Day!
We are SOOO excited to be back up at Brighton for the season! The kids started lessons this week so here we are! Josh and I got the morning to ski together while the kids were in class. Josh is such a good skier but was nice enough to hang back with me for a couple runs. I sent him on his way to ski for a bit by himself before we had to pick the boys up for lunch. We had a blast on the mountain today and look forward to a season of good times!

Keen at the dentist
Keen had his first cavities filled today at Papa's office. He was so cute with the nitrous nose on and did awesome! Not even a flinch when he got numb. He loved feeling like he was "floating" and was content just hanging out watching his movie. Good job buddy!

Hale Center Theater
Josh was really nice and came with me tonight to see Aida at the Hale Center Theater. He doesn't love going to plays but I really do. So once in a while he allows me to get tickets to go together! Tonight was really an awesome show and actually one of Josh's close friends was the lead in the play. So it was really fun to be able to see him and get to chat with him after. Thanks for a fun date night out!
Running with my girls
I'm signed up to run the Ogden Marathon in May and have started training for it. The girls have really wanted to start running with me so I signed them up for the 5k that is run that same day! I'm so excited to have them running with me. We started training this week and they have been troopers even though it has been super cold! They are both good little runners and have gotten up to a mile without stopping. Can't wait to see you at the finish line girls!

Beutler Library
Rease and Rhen are the best. They have created a great little library in their room and have worked hard to get customers to come take a look. These fliers went out to the neighborhood this week and they've gotten a couple people to come and check out books. Love their creativity and the thought they put into things!

Girls Weekend
I have such a good fun group of girlfriends in our neighborhood. Some of them are in my ward and some are from wards that have split off from us, but we have been able to stay close and have a great time when we get together! We usually try and get together once a month or so for birthday dinners and it's always fun to be together as a group of girls. This weekend we stayed the night at Liz's cabin in Heber City. It was so so fun and cozy to be snuggled up in her beautiful cabin and talk into the night. Literally I think we talked all night - I didn't get to be until 3:00 am!!! But we had such a fun time. Thank you to Liz for opening up her cabin for a fun girls weekend!

Basement Remodel
We have been thinking of finishing the basement and throwing around ideas on what to do down there. Our good friend Justin Dansie has been helping us out and I think we've finally come up with a great plan! Josh has wanted to have an apartment in part of the basement and rent that out so Justin worked that into the plan. The other half is going to be a big room and bathroom for the boys and we will keep our toy room and cold storage room. Overall it is going to be SOOO great! We can't wait to get started.
I put together the pictures week by week and the progress we made. It was so fun to watch and see what happened each week and the kids were always excited to walk down at the end of the day and see the progress. Josh and Justin came up with the idea of putting hammock hooks in the toy room and in the boys room. Together they figured out how to do that and ended up putting big posts between the studs before the sheetrock went up. I have a feeling those hammocks are going to be put to good use in the years to come!
We are so happy with the way it turned out! And especially the apartment side. It turned out beautiful. Thanks to Justin and Josh for all their hard work getting this done.
Sleepy Keen
Keen got sent to his room tonight after dinner for whining about doing his dish job. I intended it to be for just a couple of minutes, but when it got to be really quiet downstairs I went down to check on him. He was fast asleep so I covered him up with his blanket and he was out for the rest of the night. Poor sleepy Keen!!!

Josh's Birthday
My favorite person and partner for life turned 39 today. That means one more year until he is officially OLD. So we're going to live it up this year and have a blast with these crazy kiddos of ours! We love him for lots of reasons but mostly because he's the best human being I know. He loves deeply, works hard and cares for everyone around him. And he is ours!!! We are lucky to have this guy as our dad! Happy Birthday Josh!

Cottonballs
Desh discovered the cabinet in our closet that has all our extra supplies. His favorite thing to do is clear out the bottom drawer and sit in it while he tears apart the cotton balls. Nice buddy. Thanks for the mess.
