Friday

The next day we headed to the beach. We of course were in shorts and t-shirts while everyone else had jackets on - that's okay - we loved the weather!

We had to have our ice-cream

We stopped at the farmer's market on the way home from the beach. Rease just woke up from a nap and was pretending to ingnore the camera.

Finally she looks, but still no smile.
Mommy loves Rease.

Saturday

Saturday we went to see my great-grandparents which would be Rease's great-great-grandparents - crazy! They are still very healthy and get around great for being in their nineties.

Mom and I took Rease on a stroll around the neighborhood - it's so beautiful there!I wish I would've taken a picture earlier in the day, but this was the temperature at 5:00 pm. We sat on the porch and just enjoyed the weather.

Just some random shots of the cute faces Rease makes.

Easter Sunday

Rease got a visit from great-grandma the easter bunny on Sunday.
Just before we left for the airport, great-grandpa decided to let Rease have a taste of his ice cream bar...

She didn't leave much for him - this is her taking the last bite. Yes, she ate the whole thing in about 5 minutes!

Rease in the van getting ready to head to the airport - she thinks she's so big.
We ended up having a cancelled flight and a long wait at the airport. Rease was practicing her standing and walking while we waited.
Somehow she ended up underneath the bench...

and then bonked her head.

We had a great trip and loved seeing great and great-great grandparents. We miss the 80 degree weather already!

Ladies and Gentlemen, Matt Turner has arrived!!

The best thing to come out of Kentucky since the Derby arrived back here in Utah early Monday morning. We've loved having him stay with us for a few days and are glad that he'll be living so close. From the looks of things it seems that baby Rease is just as fond of him as we are.

Seeing Spots

We've had a sick girl in our house for the past week and half. So although she normally is a great baby, we have seen a little more of this the last few days...
The one thing that can calm her down just like that - FOOD.
But the best thing about her when she cries really hard are the spots that suddenly start to show up on her face...

She turns into little miss splotchy face. So cute!

I love her even more when I have to cuddle and kiss her back to good health!

Uncle Mike and Rease; together at last.

Our great friend and psuedo family member Mike McCarlie (yes ladies he's single) took time out of his high profile schedule to hang out with us at the house yesterday.

As you can see, Rease got all dressed up for the occasion (dressed up meaning a clean set of PJ's and some hair gel). Then, like a light switch, she turned on the charm.

From the looks of things, they enjoyed one another's company.
We love to have some good old quality time with Mr. Mike McCarlie!!

Carrot Cake Delicousness

Yes everyone this is Josh (a.k.a. the father). I am still alive dispite the lack of posts with my name on them.

Rease and I had the day to spend together not to long ago so we made a delicous carrot cake for Grandpa Beutler's Birthday.

I thought I'd let her play by herself while I whipped it up. But true to form the minute she knew something was going on in the kitchen she quickly glided over and kept ramming into my legs with her walker. And as you can she she ended up being quite the Soux Chef.

She did a great job grating the carrots with her razor sharp lower teeth.
I personally love the white knuckle grip.
And if you've ever made "baby assisted" carrot cake before you know that the spoon needs to be pre-soaked with saliva prior to combining ingredients. This tecnique is known to give the cake that special something.
Then follows the all important post-soak in saliva to insure the spoon will be clean after final wash. Think of it like rinsing your dishes before putting them in the dishwasher.

And Voila!! There you have it. What a great day in the kitchen!!
