Easter Sunday

Rease got a visit from great-grandma the easter bunny on Sunday.
Just before we left for the airport, great-grandpa decided to let Rease have a taste of his ice cream bar...

She didn't leave much for him - this is her taking the last bite. Yes, she ate the whole thing in about 5 minutes!

Rease in the van getting ready to head to the airport - she thinks she's so big.
We ended up having a cancelled flight and a long wait at the airport. Rease was practicing her standing and walking while we waited.
Somehow she ended up underneath the bench...

and then bonked her head.

We had a great trip and loved seeing great and great-great grandparents. We miss the 80 degree weather already!

Ladies and Gentlemen, Matt Turner has arrived!!

The best thing to come out of Kentucky since the Derby arrived back here in Utah early Monday morning. We've loved having him stay with us for a few days and are glad that he'll be living so close. From the looks of things it seems that baby Rease is just as fond of him as we are.

Seeing Spots

We've had a sick girl in our house for the past week and half. So although she normally is a great baby, we have seen a little more of this the last few days...
The one thing that can calm her down just like that - FOOD.
But the best thing about her when she cries really hard are the spots that suddenly start to show up on her face...

She turns into little miss splotchy face. So cute!

I love her even more when I have to cuddle and kiss her back to good health!

Uncle Mike and Rease; together at last.

Our great friend and psuedo family member Mike McCarlie (yes ladies he's single) took time out of his high profile schedule to hang out with us at the house yesterday.

As you can see, Rease got all dressed up for the occasion (dressed up meaning a clean set of PJ's and some hair gel). Then, like a light switch, she turned on the charm.

From the looks of things, they enjoyed one another's company.
We love to have some good old quality time with Mr. Mike McCarlie!!

Carrot Cake Delicousness

Yes everyone this is Josh (a.k.a. the father). I am still alive dispite the lack of posts with my name on them.

Rease and I had the day to spend together not to long ago so we made a delicous carrot cake for Grandpa Beutler's Birthday.

I thought I'd let her play by herself while I whipped it up. But true to form the minute she knew something was going on in the kitchen she quickly glided over and kept ramming into my legs with her walker. And as you can she she ended up being quite the Soux Chef.

She did a great job grating the carrots with her razor sharp lower teeth.
I personally love the white knuckle grip.
And if you've ever made "baby assisted" carrot cake before you know that the spoon needs to be pre-soaked with saliva prior to combining ingredients. This tecnique is known to give the cake that special something.
Then follows the all important post-soak in saliva to insure the spoon will be clean after final wash. Think of it like rinsing your dishes before putting them in the dishwasher.

And Voila!! There you have it. What a great day in the kitchen!!

Our day with Nolan

We had the privilage of tending cute Nolan on Wednesday. We had such a fun time and Nolan got to try out all of Rease's toys.

I think he liked the idea of new toys around, but Rease wasn't so sure she wanted to share...

Poor Nolan didn't even see it coming.

So he tried another one...

That one's gone too...

And again...

"What? They're my toys, aren't they?"
I guess we know what we need to work on with her - SHARING!

Nolan tried to get her back for not sharing by sitting on her walker with her and pulling her hair - she tries everything to get away from him.

We decided some fresh air might do all of us some good. So we packed up the stroller and took a walk around the neighborhood.

Overall, the cousins really do love each other. And we loved our day with Mr. Nolan!

Catching up...

I wanted to catch up on a few random pictures I've taken that haven't gotten posted...

Sometimes when I have a lot to do and not a lot of time, I have to do two things at once - like carrying Rease downstairs at the same time as I carry the laundry down...

Josh loves his playtime with Rease - it usually ends up looking something like this...

Rease in the shower in her bumbo chair - she loves her long showers just like mom does.

I don't remember where we were going, but we all happened to be wearing a tuque (beanie) that night.

The best parts of Rease...

This is Josh's new favorite picture. It takes in all of the best parts of Rease:
1) Her chubby face and big head...
2) Her professional sitting skills...
3) Her wavy hair that is starting to fill in...
4) Best of all - her cute little buttcrack. She has the longest crack (sorry if that is too much information for some of you) and so it shows everytime she sits down, no matter what. I think it is very cute - but it does make for a perfect spout up her back if she has a really full poopy diaper. This is probably grossing most of you out, so I will stop with all the info. But isn't she just cute?
