Uh Oh Cheerio

Rease loves Cheerios and is starting to actually be able to get most of them in her mouth instead of on the floor. Once in a while there is a straggler...

The best part is that she has no idea and she just poses for the camera like normal. Love this girl!

Our day on the beach...

I bought this little sundress for Rease just before we went to the beach - and yes, she has plenty of sunscreen on so her pale white skin doesn't burn. As you can see, I also had a sunhat on her but it always ended up off a few seconds after I put it on.

Rease didn't love the water. First of all, the sound of the waves crashing scared her and she wouldn't even give it a chance. Second, the water was freezing so I can understand where she's coming from on that point. She did get her feet wet, but that didn't last too long either.

She liked this view of the ocean much better than up close.

Isn't this the sweetest picture - don't you want to just eat those cheeks?

Us moms found some time to relax on the hammocks - perfect place for sleeping.

Christmas in Puerto Vallarta

We spent Christmas Eve singing Christmas Carols, reading the Christmas story from the Bible, and waiting for Santa to come...
Grandma gave the kids each a headband to wear...
Angel Rease and Nolan the Reindeer!

Santa's other reindeer.
And what's jingle bells without actual bells?
The traditional line-up on Christmas morning... Youngest to oldest. Finally Garrett doesn't get to go first!

Rease sure seems excited about the movie Annie that Santa brought her, even though I'm sure she won't appreciate this gift for a few years.

Buried in the pile of tissue paper. (We always wrap our stocking gifts in tissue paper -another tradition Josh has come to realize, even though it shouldn't really matter what gifts are wrapped in - it's tradition!)

We ended our Christmas night by going to the Hardrock Cafe downtown. What a great Christmas!

A dip in the pool...

We had a pool just outside the backdoor of the house we stayed at in Mexico.

Uncle Justin and Rease - don't you love the polka-dot bikini?

Rease loved the water (after she got used to the cold - it took a few minutes.)
Cousin Nolan - not so much. He did better in the heated pool we went to later in the week.

Loving the bath toys we took to play with in the pool.

Christmas 2007

We spent Christmas this year in Mexico with my family - wahoo! We had a great time! Josh and I decided to do our own "Christmas Morning" before we left so we didn't have to haul all the gifts to Mexico. So these are from our Christmas morning on Saturday December 22nd...

Rease was all smiles waiting to open gifts.

I love this face! She is in love with soft squishy things, so of course she loves this bear. Doesn't this just capture the emotion?

And now... smiles for the camera.
Rease got a little bored while Josh and I opened gifts...so she went for the paper.
Realizing that it doesn't taste as good as her toys do...

Another smile.

We had a great Christmas - more pictures of Mexico are on the way!

Finally a High Chair

I know a high chair is probably long overdue for us with a 6 mo old, but we just got around to getting one this past week. Actually Holly, does this look familiar? I got the idea off your tutusandturtles blog - we loved the look of it when we saw it. It's actually really cool and has wheels and a brake on the bottom, plus it's very easy to move up and down. As you can see, Rease likes it too. She can now officially be part of the family dinners.

1/2 year old

Rease had her 6 month birthday and check-up on the 6th of December. Has it already been 6 months? I can't hardly believe it - but on the other hand, I can't imagine life without her.

6 month stats from Dr. Frei:

Weight: 18 lbs. 9 oz. - 91%
Height: 26.8 inches - 86%
Head: 18 inches - over 99%

So, as you can see from the numbers and the picture, Rease has a large head. So big that our Dr. is sending her for a CT scan today to make sure there's not something else going on. She assures me that it is most likely nothing, but last check-up she told me that if this time we didn't see her head growth start to taper off, then she would have us do this scan. So here we are again on our way up to Primary Children's Hospital today. I think she just has a dad with a big head, but we will see.

A close-up of her little chompers pokin through...

Rease's new favorite toy is her walker. She hasn't quite figured out how to move around very quickly, but she does go backwards pretty good. Look at those chunky legs though - they have to be good for moving herself around in the near future!
