Back to School

What is this?, you ask.
Josh got accepted to Grad School and this is the official letter from Weber State!
Two great things about it: school is in the evening so he can still work and also it's close enough to home that we can stay in Draper (he may not love the commute, but I'm glad we can stay in our house!)
Congrats to Josh!

Morningtime Madness

I just found these cute, crazy pictures of Josh and Rease taken in the early morning hours when I am gladly still sleeping. Josh is such a great dad - he loves hanging out with her right when she wakes up.
Obviously they love each other just a little bit!

Now that is some wild hair Rease - she gets her bedhead from her dad!

Camping trip

Camping in American Fork Canyon. Mike, Andy, Josh, Rease and I. Good food. Great conversation. And a girl that loved playing in the dirt.
Can you think of anything better?

That is one messy face...

And dirty hands to go along with it!

Josh was teaching Rease how to get her hands warm by the fire.

Step 1: Rub them together like this...

Step 2: Then hold them up like this (notice Rease is still on step 1.)
She figured it out pretty good.

Thanks for teaching me dad!

The next morning Rease woke up bright and early - "Hi, I'm up already!"

And since the three of us were sharing a tent, once Rease was up, we were all up.

Once again her face is dirty...and shows us what kinds of faces she can pull.

Unfortunately, the fun had to end and we were packed in the car - really packed.

Thanks for spending the weekend with us Mike and Andy!

Rease and her Soul Mate

Rease has found her soul mate.
There is a very cute boy in our ward who is 5 days older than Rease and we as parents have already started planning their wedding. These pictures are proof that they are meant to be. (We stole the picture of Oscar from their blog and found one of Rease that looked much the same.)
They will have a great future together!

Welcome to the family Oscar!

Camp Pendleton Mud Run 2008

Finally here are pictures of the real reason we went to San Diego last weekend - Josh ran a mud run at Camp Pendleton with some friends. It was a 10k obstacle course run with mud slides and mud pits as part of of the race. Unfortunately I was a terrible camera girl and didn't get very many shots of the actual race - just befores and afters. Anyway, enjoy...
They ran in sport kilts (they made the sport kilt website!) and combat boots - weird, but oddly sexy too!

Rease in her jammies still but we were there to cheer the men on.

Rease was loving Uncle Greg all weekend.

The first part of the race includes getting soaked with fire hoses and then this is the only picture I was able to get of one of them running. This is Greg (in the hat) just after the mud pit and getting ready to cross the finish line.
And here are the boys after the race - they don't look too muddy, but believe me, their clothes are dirty as can be. Don't they all look great? And don't I have such a hot husband?
Good running Josh!

Wild Animal Park

So we spent Rease's actual birthday in San Diego and stayed in a great hotel (thanks Gayle!)
We decided to celebrate the 1 year old's day by taking her to the wild animal park. Neither of us had ever been and were pleasantly surprised at how much we liked it - and Rease loved it!

We took a "Tour into Africa" and saw lots of cool animals - zebras, rhinos, giraffes, lions...

Our favorite was the "Birds in Flight" show we went to - mostly because Rease was so into it and we loved watching her get so excited.

This owl was coming straight at us to land on the perch that happened to be right above our heads - it was amazing.
Giving her approval of the show.
On the way out we stopped in to pet the deer and Rease even got up close and personal with them.
A great 1 year old day!
